since i havent blogged for so long, i have too many things to type.. so i'll just do the leadership camp and the children's camp..
on the 26 - 28, i went for a children's camp that the committee organised to help out... oh boy, do i regret going... on the first night, we had to bring the kids for a nightwalk... oh my gosh, they were so noisy!! the peaceful night air was completely disrupted with their noise.. on top of that, instead of calling my 'kor kor', they called me 'ah gong'!! ah!! so pek chek....
i went home on the first night cause i wanted to go play tennis with my uncles and aunts on sat morning... but, i woke up late on sat, so went for tennis late... dang... well, i still played some tennis and had to go back to the camp after that...
when i arrived at the camp, the kids were playing tug-of-war... i thought that them, being kids, would be a piece of cake to win, but i couldnt have been so wrong... when the kids pulled against us instructors, we almost flew... it was a homerun... but all in all, it was great fun playing with them, although they were irritating...
after the games, the kids had their nap time... during their nappie time, me, mac and ndi had to build the fireball for the night's campfire... i learned alot on how to build that, and one day i'm gonna make on just like it...
after the kids woke up, it was time for the barbeque... everyone knows how i loved to cook barbeques, so i volunteered myself for the cooking... xinyi joined me for the cooking, so i wasnt alone cooking...
the fire was good, so good that i almost burned my hand off... gosh, i didn't know kids were so greedy!! they kept coming back for more and more food!! but then, i guess it's good for their growth... that night i left early with xinyi, and didnt return for the third day...
on tues, i had the leadership camp to attend... i was a group leader, and julaiha was my assistant leader... i thought it should have been the other way round, since she was part of the new exco and needed the experience... i was just a senior... i tried to put her up to the role, but during the first day, i took care of everything cause she refused to...
leadership camp was a bit boring on the first day.. the new leaders were not enthusiastic at all... they were plain dead... but the night activities were fun... the seniors and exco members didn't take part, but rather, we controlled the flow of the game... me, pravin and akram went around being the 'policemen' of the game, cause mr yap requested us to... but we decided to do it the unconventional way... we stalked the teams and if anyone broke the game rules, we'd just pop out and drag the to the 'dungeon'... there, we'd leave the wrong do-ers to azhar and shing chi to be punished...
waking up on the second day, i was all psyched to go kayaking... but when i tried to lift my body up from the ground, my arms had no energy... none, zilch... my arms were super sore, i couldn't even throw a sponge ball... so, i had to sit out of the kayaking and watch the belongings of the leaders.. i wasn't alone, luckily, cause the sec 2 stephanie (her name is almost like our steph, only that this stephanie's chinese name is spelled yi ping, not yu ting) had to sit out of the kayaking as her parents did not allow her to do it.. how paranoid...
also, i had to buy food for mr wee, from the nearby changi village... i waited for almost 30 mins for the nasi lemak that he wanted... i could have easily bought from another nasi lemak stall, but i owed him, so i just waited patiently... the rice must have been good, cause he ordered the same for our lunch, and we had to carry 62 packets of nasi lemak back from the market to the beach... i wouldn't have minded, if my arms weren't so sore...
after lunch, we had an amazing race... instead of playing, i decided to help with the games, thus leaving julaiha with no choice but to take over my post and lead the group for the day... that's how i had wanted it... part of the game included a war game which required the throwing of water bombs... i had a junior fill a normal sized ballon with water till it was about the size of my head... it was known as the 'automic bomb'.. i actually wanted to throw it at pravin, but threw it at julaiha instead.. it didn't burst when it hit her, and still didnt when it landed on the floor.. instead, it chose to detonate when i picked it up, covering me in water... not satisfied, i picked up a water bomb and threw it at julaiha, sparking off a chain reaction that caused everyone to throw bombs at her... hahahaha...
that night, i cooked for the barbeque too... man, the food came out good.. the chicken's marinate was superb, i have never eaten anything like it... after the barbeque was the campfire... jun (mom) came for it even though she didnt come for the camp... i was delighted to see her as she was my bestest best friend... we sang and danced during the camp fire.. it was a blast...
the third day didnt have as much activities... in the morning we went to gardens to have breakfast, and after that came back to school for some last games... at around 12.30pm, we broke camp and headed home... however, jun wanted to take pics with me so i had to stay back awhile more...
that was basically it for the last few days... yup...
