i'm back from my holiday!! whee!! it was so fun!! diving and diving and diving.. man, that was the life!!
we woke up at around 6.20 on thurs morning, to bathe and get ready for the trip.. truth be told, i still havent packed anything yet, so i rushed everything... we left the house late, and headed to woodlands to meet up with the rest of the company... after meeting up, we proceeded to johor to have our breakfast and head over mersing...
when we hit mersing, we started unpacking our load from the boot of our car... it was packed to the brim with our equipment, as we had 5 people diving out of the 6 people in our family... i had to carry 3 large bags of equipment to the jetty, because my father was parking the car... it was so heavy ok... it was maybe, 10 kg on my back, and 2 kg on each arm for about 100m... super tiring...
at around 11, we boarded the boat to pulau dayang... this boat would follow us throughout the whole trip, as it was also our dive boat.. it was a 4 hr boat ride to dayang... i went tanning for an hour (but didnt change colour), and slept for the rest of the journey in the air-con room in the lower deck...
when we reached the tiny island, we immediately unpacked our gear... the first dive was only an hour away...
i cant really remember what happened over the 4 days... some things i remember though...
like, on the first night, my uncle and i went fishing, and we caught a baby shark... it was so cool.. i immediately identified the fish as a juvenile black tip reef shark.. i grabbed the fish by the tail, and some guy came over to help us unhook the fish... we forgot to bring a plier...
another thing worth remembering was the school of huge humphead parrotfish... imagine, a school of fish that were 1m in lenght swimming past you... we also saw schools of barracuda... even though we didnt get to dive in a ring of cudas, we did dive in a ring of baby fishes... haha...
we saw nudibranches, a cone snail, pin-cushion starfishes, cute little cuttlefishes, and the usual stuff.. my favourite moment was the turtle!! on one of the night dives, we saw a turtle resting under a huge coral... as it swan out, uncle luke grabbed it by its shell, thus preventing it for swimming away.. and as i was beside him (i try to be beside him as often as possible, cause he always finds the cool stuff), i touched the turtle!! that was so awesome...
another memory was about how my younger sis and bro mistook me for a girl, or more specifically, my older sis... on night dives, we always tie a lightstick onto our tanks for identification purposes... after the dive, we'll take them out and bring it back to our quarters... when i finished rinsing myself down, i went back to hang my regulator and bc... i didnt take off my wetsuit yet as we still had other equipment to wash (whole family diving, many things to wash). as i was walking, with my back towards my younger siblings, i heard, 'jie!! i want your lightstick!!'.. oh my gosh, so pai seh lah!! in front of everybody, my younger siblings mistook me for my older sis!! when i turned around, all i heard was muffled laughter from everyone, and 'opps' from my younger sis... after glaring at them for awhile, i sighed and tossed them my lightstick... afterall, when you're wet and in a wetsuit with your hair as long as your sis, it isnt so hard so be mistaken from the back...
once, i had to sit out of a trip because i had an accident underwater... so i gathered my fishing stuff and went fishing at the jetty... you know, sometimes i think people are retarded.. all the time i was there, when people walked past me, they'd say, 'look, the boy/kid's fishing'.. duh!! it was rather embarrasing too... sometimes, i threw my bait (bread) into the water... and for some reason, the girls/women waiting for their boats always like to see it... so paiseh... i mean, picture yourself, surrounded with bikini girls (some hot ones i might add), ohhing and ahhing over the fishes below... and imagine when i caught a fish... everybody'd go, 'oh!! he caught a fish!!' and absolutely everyone on the jetty would turn and look at me... i have never been so embarrassed while fishing in my entire life...
everyday, we'd wake up at 6.30am for our first dive... our last dive would be at 7pm... in-between, we'd have 4 meal... each and every one of the meals was splendid... superb... i think better than my mom's.. haha...
what more could you ask for in a dive trip... beautiful beaches, a comfortable room, wonderful food, clear waters, bikini babes, a lovely weather, an incredible night sky, and good company... i couldnt have asked for more... oh, maybe a nicer bathroom... dont know why, but it puts me off...
poohed all the way at 6:01 PM
