mr paul's wedding was so fun!! most of the event can be found inside the letter i wrote to him, here:
Hello Mr Paul...
Happy Marriage!! i completely forgot to wish you that earlier this morning... i almost did though.. lucky i didnt... blur me would have said something dumb like 'happy birthday' instead..
the wheel of fortune have been spun, the die of fate has been cast, and you have now embarked on a whole new journey, in a whole new world... with the beautiful mrs paul by your side, nothing can and will possibly go wrong... i feel so happy for you...
actually, this was supposed to be written as a letter to be handed to you at your wedding... as i woke up late and had to rush down in a cab so as not to miss the wedding, i had no time to write it out... come to think of it, i've never been early in my entire life... remember the time when i made you, xin ting and the rest of my group wait for 1 and 1/2 hrs before i came?? we were going to ubin... i think that was the first time a student made any teacher wait.. haha... i should try to change myself to be a better person... yup..
what actually was supposed to come with this letter was a set of bearings... inline skate
bearings.. i know, i know, what has that got to do with the wedding??
well, im my attempt to be poetic, i had composed something.. it went something like this: 'this set of bearings are among the fastest and most accurate bearings ever made in the world... i hope that this bearings will help your wheel of fortune spin true and well...' kinda pathetic huh?? i knew i should have taken lit outside school...
the bearings (which i never had the chance to pass to you) were meant to be symbolic, but when i do pass it to you, and if you ever want to put it on a pair of skates, just hand them over to me and i will fix up the pair of skates for you..
actually, i wanted to pass you an ang pao instead, but firstly, i doubt you would accept it in front of so many people, or for that fact, because it came from me... secondly, i had considered a diamond necklace, which i had sourced out at a good price... then it hit me that you'll never accept that either.. thirdly, i forgot where i put the money in the end.. =P
the wedding was such an interesting affair!! i never knew that you had to sign the marriage cert in front of everyone, and that a witness is needed.. indeed, i learnt many things... which will of course be useful if i do ever get married... hehe... funny, just after the wedding, me and cassandra were just discussing on the train how each of us would love to have 4 kids, 2 girls, 2 boys, and that how 2 of them must be twins..
the food, was the best... you should thank me, i cleared half a tray of brownies ok... and there were so much left over... maybe not the brownies, but i saw loads of mango pudding... your mother, or at least i think it was your mother, said that you speacially ordered a lot of food because you told her that your students ate alot... awww, so sweet of you.. haha...
it was a very memorable day... from the photographer who wanted to photograph everything, the adorable ring-boy, xerxes who dressed like it was his wedding, mr oei who took up 2 chairs and thus blocked my view, ms ong who got knocked over by a kid, us students who turned your wedding lunch reception into our very own photoshoot, your mother who was over concerned for us, my book which someone stapled wrongly and i had to search all over the place for the songs, the joke (me and my wife have been married for 50 years, we share EVERYTHING) which the emcee said, to your friend, the travis barker (blink 182 drummer) look-alike.... yup, it really was..
you know when you introduced me to ms lisa twice, and went, 'this is mark, the ONE' (when i congratulated you 2) and 'this is mark, you KNOW him' (when you introduced everyone), i thought, man, am i that famous.. hahaha... i would really love to know the story of why she knew me before we ever met...
and remember when you said to us last year that ms lisa was very shy?? and how we never believed it?? well, when she said the wedding vows, i did believe it.. but when she hung around with us later on during the lunch reception, she was way cool... she wasnt shy at all, taking photos with us!! she put the flowers on top of my head, haha...
oh oh, and the student photo!! wahahahaha!! i still remember, i went, 'carry her!! carry her!! carry her!!' and everyone followed, and the whole room turned to look over to see what the commotion was about, and when you did carry her i (and everyone else) went 'ALRIGHT!! WOO HOO!!', and when you put her down and said, 'these are my students... i handle them, EVERYDAY!!' it was so comical!! you're a good sport...
alright, i think thats all i have to write... i'll pass you the bearings some other time...
this is a wish-list of what i would like to have:an invitation to a house warming you are going to have for your new house (you didnt invited me to the wedding dinner, hmph)a piece of the wedding cake (if you had one)... nah, joking... it'll all be stale by now, ewww...all the photos your photographer took (its was all digital wasnt it?? pretty please can i have them??)and, a list of baby names... so when your baby does arrive, i'll help you name it... how about 'mark'?? hahahahha...
p.s. i sound like a jedi, using his jedi mind-tricks to try to make you fufil my wish-list.. maybe i should include a dive trip to the great barrier reef and a ferrari inside too.. hehe..

so you get the picture of the wedding... hilarious i tell you.. after the wedding some of us went to plaza singapura.. we played arcade for awhile, while the girls when shopping.. then we met up at around 4 and went to play pool together... i totally suck at pool... hehe...
today, they started to talk about me, again.. about 10 years down the road... how it'll be my turn to get married... wen xia and steph went, 'eh, where's grace?? never invite her come ah??' zzz... and i went, 'why, jealous ah??' and then they got nothing to say, haha!!
oh, they said i looked like da di from tong xing yuan.. that chinese show thats on at 7pm... i just needed to make my hair into a mowhawk pattern... that would complete it..
'i will patiently wait'
