im starting to lose trust in people already... probably because ive been let down so many times ive gotten sick of it... so forgive me, everyone who knows me, if i fail to believe you at any time..
today is step's birthday... so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! hope you have many returns for the day...
and its also daniel's birthday, so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! hope you have many returns for the day...
went to church today, to play floorball, and was indirectly chased out by keith... dont know why, since he wasnt even the one who opened the church today.. probably a misunderstanding... as usual..
later i went with casper to skateline... ken isnt working there anymore, and chee siong wasnt there, he was on mc.. so met a new guy, called skyler, nice fella... he kept on laughing at us as me and casper were always clowning around whenever we're together..
and cas just came over again to swap his wheels... it was really comedy as we were trying out different wheel position on the skates... and as usual we clowned around, in the room, and made so much noise that my father came in...
according to casper, brenda, my neighbour, is becoming more and more 'dao'... and we both commented together, 'probably has a boyfriend'...
i notice people change alot when they have a boyfriend/girlfriend... sometimes they change for the better of all his (lets use his shall we, but this applies to both sex) friends, sometimes he changes for the benefit of his girlfriend only, which is not good... what if the situation becomes so bad, he loses all his friends?? and one fine day, his girlfriend leaves him, who is he going turn to then?? friends are not to be neglected in any way...
tomorrow there is math lessons, but i dont know if i will go or not... apperantly alot of people arent going...
EQ, Emotional Intelligence - an ability, capacity, or skill to perceive, assess, and manage the emotions of one's self, of others, and of groups.
broken down in 5 groups:
1)The ability to identify and name one's emotional states and to understand the link between emotions, thought and action.
2)The capacity to manage one's emotional states — to control emotions or to shift undesirable emotional states to more adequate ones.
3)The ability to enter into emotional states (at will) associated with a drive to achieve and be successful.
4)The capacity to read, be sensitive, and influence other people's emotions.
5)The ability to enter and sustain satisfactory interpersonal relationships.
The most significant areas within EQ include:
- Self-awareness: Only when somebody is aware of their strengths and weaknesses can they maximise their potential.
- Self-regulation: In a constantly changing business world, the ability to control your emotions is paramount. Panic and anger are understandable, but rarely produce good working relationships.
- Empathy: The successful manager is the one who convinces people that they are important, and is aware of the changing moods and emotions of their people.
- Social skills: First impressions are very powerful and can be difficult to change. The first handshake or greeting and initial facial expressions form the basis of our opinion, and begin to develop the reputation we have within an organisation.
What are the do's and don'ts?
Do:
- Seek feedback - Show interest in others - Trust people - Control difficult situations - Put yourself in their shoes - Be honest
Don't:
- Be defensive - Be self-centred - Think you have all the answers - Gossip behind people's backs - Think what works for you works for everybody else - Lose your temper
so basically, eq is one area i majorly need to improve on... cause i do both the 'dos', and the 'don'ts'
'im just out to find, the better part of me'
